Volunteer Opportunity: Bulb Planting

With funds raised from our 2018 spring appeal, we have purchased 20,000 bulbs to create a lasting legacy of spring blooms in honor of PHA’s 20th Anniversary. Drifts and swaths of colorful bulbs will appear roadside, at our entryway, along our stone walls, and in other prominent landscape areas. We will also use this opportunity to replant existing bulb plantings that have become diminished. And we could use some help! If you are interested in joining us next week to help plant, here are the details:

We will plant on three days, with two shifts on each day:

Tuesday Nov. 13th, 8:30am-noon and 12:45pm-3:15
Wednesday Nov 14th, 9am-noon and 12:30-2:30
Thursday Nov 15th, 10-noon and 12:45-3:00

Please note: If we finish early, we may cancel some of the later shifts. We will post on the Arboretum’s Facebook page/website if any shifts are canceled. In case of inclement weather, we will post on Facebook/website if the bulb planting has been canceled or postponed.

You do not have to stay for the whole shift, but please show up at the beginning of the shift so you can be present for the instructions. No need to RSVP.

Park in the main lot, and meet at the Visitor Center. Wear warm clothes, and dress for working in the dirt. Bring gardening gloves.
