The Jerusalem Botanical Gardens: Curating a garden in the Holy Land

Former PHA Curatorial Intern Kady Wilson will discuss her recent scholarship at the Jerusalem Botanical Gardens, Israel’s largest scientific plant collection. Set in the Middle East, the gardens grow plants from Mediterranean climates around the world, and promote conservation and education. Its location presents a particular set of opportunities as well as obstacles.

Kady Wilson grew up surrounded by plants and horticulture in rural Vermont. She studied Biological Sciences and French Studies at Smith College (’15) where she interned at the Smith College BG and became enamored of plant records and botanic garden curation.  Kady’s passion for plants has led her to internships at the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University, Polly Hill Arboretum, and most recently to a scholarship at the Jerusalem Botanical Gardens in Israel.
