Propagating Island Native Plants by Seed

Join Plant Propagator Brittany Clark for an introductory course to learn how to propagate Island native plants by seed. 

This course will use Lobelia cardinalis, cardinal flower, as the demonstration species and will overview the complete seed propagation process of collecting and cleaning the seed, sowing, transplanting, then planting in the garden. 

Attendees will be able to participate in the sowing and transplanting steps and the course will end with a plug planting demonstration. 

Provided materials are: 

  • Seed flat with seed germination mix & vermiculite
  • Lobelia cardinalis seed
  • 4 Lobelia cardinalis plugs (2 established, 2 fresh transplants)
