Join Kristen Fauteux from Sheriff’s Meadow Foundation and Julie Russell from the Martha’s Vineyard Land Bank to explore wetlands. Learn how wetlands are delineated, what vegetation is used to define a wetland, and the basics of hydric soils. In addition, we will review what a wetland resource area is according to the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act and how each towns wetland bylaws differ.

Kristen Fauteux is the Director of Stewardship for Sheriff’s Meadow Foundation, she has a B.A. in human ecology and a M.S. in Resource Management and Conservation.  She has been with the Foundation since 2002.  Julie Russell is the Martha’s Vineyard Land Bank’s ecologist.  She has a B.S. in Wildlife Biology and a M.S. in Wildlife Toxicology.  She has been with the land bank since 1999.
