Andy Brand

Too many landscapes today consist mainly of lawn and very few trees and shrubs, supporting very little wildlife. Andy Brand, Curator of Living Collections at the Coastal Maine Botanical Garden, will discuss how we can increase biodiversity in our yards, concentrating on the importance of native plants. Butterflies, caterpillars and their specific host plants will be emphasized. To show the vast diversity of critters that can be enticed into one’s yard with very little effort, Andy will share pictures of some of the thousands of species found in his garden in Hamden, Maine.

Free.
