Phil Douglas, Director of Plant Collections at the Chicago Botanic Garden, will discuss his recent travels collecting and documenting plants across three continents. Douglas will detail his work in the Caucasus Mountains of Azerbaijan, the seaside forests of Hokkaido, Japan, and Big Bend National Park in Texas. The ex-situ plant collections of the Chicago Botanic Garden are some of the most diverse in the world, and Douglas will shed light on the importance of documenting, observing, and collecting wild plants.
