Trees in a Changing Climate
Date: Wednesday, July 17, 7:30pm
Annual Lisina and Frank Hoch Lecture
Trees can take over 100 years to reach maturity, so the trees we plant now will mature in a climate that may be very different to the one in which they were planted. The predicted changes in climate may have a profound effect on our trees, which, once planted, must endure whatever climate ensues. Join Guy Sternberg, landscape architect, arborist , and director of Starhill Forest Arboretum to learn about trees in a changing climate. He will explore topics such as natural range variation, climate cycling, the importance of species, site origination, and some expected trends for our landscapes of the coming century.
