Plant Societies

mass chapter rhs 1976

Mass Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society visits, 1976.

Polly Hill was always interested in learning more about plants and sharing that information with people. When she began growing her arboretum she made sure to join a variety of plant societies.

In a 1992 journal entry Polly writes, “They came simply, big groups, or small families. What joy it is to share the plants I love with appreciative, curious, knowledgeable, and friendly people. Viva horticulture! It restores the soul.”

The Polly Hill Arboretum is also a member of several plant societies, continuing the tradition of sharing plants with people.
