The Polly Hill Arboretum is committed to the documentation and protection of the natural flora of the island. Current studies involve mapping and cataloging the flora of Martha's Vineyard using modern (GPS) global positioning satellite technologies.

Our newsletter, Meristems, contains accessible articles on our natural flora in the section entitled, From the Vineyard Flora. The most recent Fall 2005 edition includes a write up and photos of many of our most common and beautiful native grasses. The article is available as a downloadable Adobe Acrobat file below.
